The Faculty Student Association of State University College at Fredonia, New York, Inc.(FSA), incorporated in 1951, is a private corporation governed by the Not-for-Profit Corporation Laws of the State of New York. The by-laws of the corporation detail the purpose, meeting requirements, director responsibilities and specification for the corporation assets and funds.
The Board-of-Directors consists of five constituent groups represented as follows: (7) Students, (3) Faculty, (3) Administrative Staff, (1) Classified Staff and (1) Alumni Representative for a total of (15) directors. It operates under a contract with the State University of New York (SUNY) in conformance with guidelines established for SUNY campuses. FSA is self-supporting through the sale of its services.
Any income after operating expenses and funding requirements is used to benefit the university by supporting numerous campus programs.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Faculty Student Association is to identify and provide appropriate goods and services which may not be otherwise provided by the State of New York. Central to this effort is the ability to recognize the variety and dynamic nature of the population involved in an attempt to maximize customer satisfaction while maintaining the financial integrity of the Corporation.
