Mission Statement
The mission of the Faculty Student Association is to identify and provide appropriate goods and services which may not be otherwise provided by the State of New York. Central to this effort is the ability to recognize the variety and dynamic nature of the population involved in an attempt to maximize customer satisfaction while maintaining the financial integrity of the Corporation.
FSA Board of Directors Resolution of November 21, 2011
With the start of the Fall 2011 semester, the Faculty
Student Association [FSA] opened the self operated FSA Cafes and Concessions
on campus. The FSA has a clearly stated mission and purpose, approved by
the Board of Directors, in pursuit of the good of the University and the
campus community. All of its programs support that mission and all who
work for or on behalf of the FSA understand and are loyal to that mission
and purpose.
FSA is committed to providing high-quality products and
superior customer service to the entire campus community. The cafes in
Mason, Fenton, and McEwen Halls as well as concessions in Steele Hall and
University Stadium are FSA self-branded operations. At this time, there
are no further licenses or franchises intended beyond the Starbucks in
University Commons and Tim Hortons in Thompson Hall and Williams Center.
However, it should also be noted that Starbucks and Tim Hortons are licensed
operations which are owned and managed by FSA and staffed with FSA/CSEA
and SUNY Fredonia student employees.
By operating and owning the Cafes
and Concessions, Starbucks and Tim Hortons licensed operations, FSA will
be able to provide additional and necessary financial support to the University
while also ensuring the quality and consistency of all food service operations
across campus. In the 2011/2012 budget, FSA is expected to contribute nearly
$1.25 million in support to SUNY Fredonia. In addition, we are looking
forward to offer new CSEA and student employment opportunities with FSA.
Therefore, the FSA Board of Directors announces the following
resolution:
