2008 - 2009 Academic Year Terms & Conditions Regarding Meal Plans
University Policy Regarding Meal Plans
All on campus residents must select from Residence Life meal plans 1 through 5 if they are residing in non-apartment style
residence halls. Plan 5 is not available to freshman. Seniors, Hendrix and Igoe Hall residents and residents of Disney and Eisenhower kitchen suites are not required
to maintain a meal plan, however, they may choose any plan.
Terms and Conditions*

Because of the legal definition of a meal plan and in order to remain tax exempt the following conditions are required:
- The meal plans and FREDCard are non-transferable and are issued for the SOLE use of the student to whom issued.
- Food and beverages cannot be purchased for another person’s consumption and points transactions are limited to $25 per day.
- The quantity of any one item that may be purchased at any one time is limited to four, restrictions may apply.
- Once a meal plan is used, changes to a lower priced plan or cancellations are not allowed.
- No refunds can be provided unless a student officially withdraws from SUNY Fredonia.

Meals from the 14, 10, 7, plans cannot be accumulated or carried over to the following week. They can be used in a one-week period starting Sunday brunch, ending with Saturday dinner. One meal is payment to enter the all-you-can-eat-dining hall once.
- Points make up the declining balance portion of the meal plan. One point is equal to one dollar. Special point plan meal prices are applied in the dining halls. Retail a la carte prices apply in all other food operations. Additional points may be added to your account at any time at the FSA Office in Gregory Hall or online at www.myfredcard.com. A minimum deposit of $15 is required.
- The unlimited meal plan, plan 1 provides unlimited dining in Cranston Marche and Erie Dining Center during normal business hours for the semester.
- Only Points, not Meals are accepted at Centre Pointe, C-Store, Starbucks and Signature Cafes. There is no meal equivalency or exchange.
- The Max-Flex all ponts plan, plan 5, is not available to Freshman.
- Feed-a-friend complimentary meals are added to meal plans 1 through 5. These meals can be used only in Erie Dining Center and Cranston Marché during normal business hours. You may use these to feed a friend, relative or guest. You must present your FREDCard to the checker on duty.
- In order to receive a rollover from the fall semester you must have an appropriate meal plan for the spring semester. Unspent points may not be used to offset the cost of your spring meal plan. Unspent points at the end of the spring semester cannot be rolled over to the fall semester. No rolled over points will be refunded.

Sick tray cards are provided through your Resident Director.

FSA is able to meet the requirements for most medically prescribed diets. Students requiring such service should submit a
physician’s letter with detailed information to the FSA Office in Gregory Hall.

It is the responsibility of the card holder to report any lost or stolen FREDCard to the FSA Office to prevent others from using
your accounts. You may report a FREDCard lost or stolen in any one of the following ways:
- Online at www.myfredcard.com. Log into “Manage Your Account” and select “Report Lost/Stolen Card”. Once you click the
“Suspend Card” button, your FREDCard will be instantly disabled.
- In person at the FSA Office located on the first floor of Gregory Hall during normal business hours which are: Monday -
Friday, 8:30a.m. to 5:00p.m. After normal business hours and on weekends, lost cards may be reported at the
Convenience Store located on the first floor of University Commons.
- The first card will be replaced at no charge. All subsequent cards have a replacement fee of $15. The fee can be paid
with the Debit Account. Replacement cards are available at the FSA Office & Convenience Store.

Students and their parents or legal guardians may receive information concerning your meal plans by contacting the FSA Office during regular business hours.
- Any meal plan additions, changes or cancelations MUST be made by completing a new enrollment card and returning it to the FSA Office in Gregory Hall. Any changes, additions or cancelations must comply with University Policy.
- In case of a refund, FSA will prorate meal plan usage and determine the remaining balance less a $10 service charge.

Meal Plans may be suspended based on notification to FSA from the SUNY Fredonia Student Accounts Office. Students must contact the Student Accounts Office in regards to suspended Meal Plans.
- China, glasses, trays, silverware or other dining service property must remain in food service facilities.
*FSA reserves the right to alter these terms and conditions, as it deems appropriate.
Meal Plan Enrollment
To enroll in a meal plan, please fill out a Meal Plan Enrollment card and return to FSA, PO Box 286, Fredonia, NY 14063-0286. Additional cards are available at the FSA Office, 1st floor Gregory Hall.
